Olivia’s take on:
Campaign coordination as connection.
Olivia describes herself as a connector. “I spent the first 30 minutes of every morning allotting time on my calendar to people and projects,” she says. “I’m anticipating needs and identifying next steps. I think of myself as the throughline. I’m the connector between our teams, client teams and community partners.”
That means coordinating communication, sharing campaign highlights and action items, and making sure everyone on a project is on the same page about priorities and deadlines. Olivia also supports technical assistance, so our clients’ partners can access and customize toolkits and resources to help them reach their audiences.
Bridging public health and strategic communications.
Olivia came to DH with a degree in health promotion and disease prevention, intern experience at Seattle Children’s, and work history at nonprofits focused on gender equity and women’s workforce development. These experiences taught her that people’s well-being depends on more than any single service. It depends on relationships and holistic access to information and resources. Now, she primarily supports DH’s public health campaigns and brings her perspective into the work.
Olivia says:
“My goal is for people to have what they need in the way they need it. That’s what makes DH work. Through co-design and transcreation, campaigns are built with audiences and with audiences in mind. The work we do with our clients is relevant for people’s real lives.”
Research and curiosity.
Olivia has long been interested in research, beginning in a behavioral epidemiology lab studying youth substance use, where her own project on election-related stress earned recognition at her university’s research symposium. She’s reconnected to research at DH by supporting the research team, testing surveys before they go into the field and helping analyze findings for the trends that inform campaign strategy.
Long walks and “Love Island.”
Outside of work, Olivia stays on the go. She enjoys catching up with friends on long after-work walks or getting a morning run in before the day starts. If you need to get your steps in, ask Olivia about “Love Island.” She’s been watching since the show premiered and will happily take you around her beloved West Seattle neighborhood while dissecting the latest season.
