The Open Arms for Canada project offers an antidote to cynicism.

“Elbows up” has become a rallying cry for Canadians in recent months, and fair enough. Between threats to their national sovereignty and economic stability, plenty of us in the U.S. understand why many Canadians feel defensive. A baseball game, and a campaign dreamed up by hospitality executive Howard Wright, gave Seattle businesses a chance to open their arms to Canadian visitors.
