What is SPARKS?

SPARKS is an annual conference hosted by the Pacific Northwest Social Marketing Association (PNSMA) for those working in social change marketing. This unique event has speakers deliver 12 minute TED style talks about transformative moments in their own social change projects. The focus is on sharing big ideas through storytelling. SPARKS attracts change experts across the Pacific Northwest working in areas like public health, environmental protection and community well-being. This year, the event is taking place at the Museum of Flight in Seattle on December 9th-10th.

Come find us at SPARKS! Not only is one of our DH Partners, Sara Johnston, on the PNSMA board, but our Senior Account Director Mallory Peak, PhD will be presenting. Mallory’s presentation, “Best of Intentions: Transcending stereotypes to connect with cannabis users in Washington state,” focuses on our work with Washington Traffic Safety Commission to address a rising concern in our state: significant increases in traffic fatalities involving both cannabis and alcohol. Mallory will discuss how our team needed to radically shift our own thinking in order to connect with an often misunderstood audience of cannabis users.
