WE’RE PROUD TO INTRODUCE YOU TO OUR NEWEST ACCOUNT COORDINATOR, Molly McNamara. Molly comes to us from Gonzaga University where she majored in public relations. She was a contract employee through the summer, and now that she’s a full-time employee, we sat down to share a little about her.

So why PR and DH, Molly?

I came to Gonzaga as a business major and realized I like writing creatively too much not to major in public relations. The department at GU has grown a lot and it’s such a versatile degree. I had heard of DH several times in my classes and through the career center as the leading firm in the area so when I heard they needed help over the summer I applied as a contractor. I’m really glad it turned out to be a good fit with the team and that I get to stay on permanently! I love the team and the diverse work I get to do here. I’m excited to get involved in the community too, I want to join Spokane MarCom, PRSA or AAF Spokane I think. I like that DH encourages participation.

What are some of the projects you’ve enjoyed the most so far?

I really like working on all types of research, which has been new for me since I’ve been at DH. I’ve helped coordinate focus groups, insight interviews and intercept surveys, so I’m looking forward to doing more of that. I also get to do a lot of social media writing and messaging support for some of our government and health care clients which has been a fun challenge—making it really accessible for all audiences.

So what do you do when not conducting research and content development?

I’m into concerts and live music—I go to lots of shows. In the last few weeks I saw The Shins at the Knitting Factory in Spokane who I love, and also a 6-string bassist called Thundercat. There’s lots of cool talent that comes through Spokane. I saw Tom Petty and even Def Leppard recently too. Even if I’m not a huge fan of the artist, I will still always go to shows if I can.

Just a big music fan, huh?

I was the lead singer in a cover band in college at GU. It was me and five guys—we played Pink Floyd, Amy Winehouse, all sorts of stuff.

What other cool thing do you want people to know about you?

Umm… my favorite movie is Gladiator. I am Molly Decimus Meridius, and I will have my vengeance.
